Hire Up Staffing Services Hosts Recruiting Seminar: Hiring Do’s and Don’ts

On July 12th Hire Up hosted their 2nd HR client appreciation luncheon for their clients and focused on the Do’s and Don’t’s of the recruitment process. Rebecca Abell, Operations Manager, led the discussion by introducing team members and providing information on the types of positions we staff for. Senior Recruitment Managers Aimee Anderson and Melanie Stayner explained the benefits of temporary and temp-to-hire contracts as well as our payrolling services. Mike Marmolejo, Senior Recruitment Manager who specializing in Finance and Accounting, discussed the direct hire process and sourcing candidates. Carrie Bryson, Senior Executive Coordinator, talked about background services that we provide including criminal checks and drug screening as well as educational verifications.

Our main speaker was Steven R. Hrdlicka, Attorney At Law, who was brought in to discuss the importance of asking the right questions on an application and what topics you can and cannot ask in an interview. He talked about discriminatory subjects and protected classes and how you can protect your company from any legal issues down the road by being thorough in your hiring processes. Mr. Hrdlicka was able to open up to forum to answer any legal questions from the group at no cost to the employers who attended.
