Temp Employment May Grow Approximately 13% in the Next Five Years
By hire-up-staffing in Industry ResourcesThere is an expected growth in temporary employment over the next five years – at least 3% (75,384 jobs) from 2014 to 2015, and then as much as 13% (354,877 jobs) from 2014 to 2019. These statistics were reported from data collected by the Economic Modeling Specialists Intl (EMSI) and CareerBuilder.
The analysis shows that the staffing industry already grew 15% from 2009 to 2010, and as much as 57% from 2009 to 2014. There are currently almost 3 million people who are in temp jobs today. Eric Gilpin, President of CareerBuilder’s Divisions for both Staffing & Recruiting and Healthcare, says this will be the theme in the coming years.
“Temporary employment will continue on an upward trajectory as companies look for ways to quickly adapt to market dynamics,” said Gilpin. “Two in five U.S. employers expect to hire temporary or contract workers this year, which opens new doors for workers who want to build relationships with different organizations and explore career options.”
CareerBuilder then compiled a list of occupations in temp employment that may be considered as fast-growing from 2014 to 2019, as well as a list of metros that have the greatest concentration of such jobs at the moment.
