While we have seen many positive notes with the local job market, overall we still have a mixed bag of news. Operational positions with manufacturing related groups have continued in a positive trend for 4 consecutive months. Overall, more than a third of employers surveyed nationally have larger workforces compared to only 13 % this same time last year. The hiring outlook for the first half of the year is also positive with an expected 42% of employers planning to increase employment as reported by the NABE. Hire Up Staffing Services clients has also echoed their outlook of a stronger 2011 in the manufacturing related sector with operational based positions in both middle and upper management. Generally these positions are the forerunner to additional jobs following in the accounting and administrative fields possibly in the second and third quarters.
