Nineteen years ago today 2,996 people lost their lives in a terrorist attack. Hundreds of firefighters made a strenuous march up the towers’ stairwells. Hundreds of Law enforcement men and women, scurried to get their people to safety. It did not stop there, strangers helped each other off of the streets and comforted one another. As we reflect on this harrowing moment in United States history, we keep those who lost their lives and those who fought to save our civilians in our hearts. “Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge — huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong.”

Today we remember that we, as individuals and as a Country, are strong. We are resilient and we will continue to match forward even in the face of adversity. We will have faith and we are determined to build a better future for the generations to come, overcoming ALL obstacles. We can do this! We are America.
